Meet the woman who set her friend’s house on fire as punishment for “Unfriending” her on Facebook
This is what happens if you unfriend your best friend from Facebook. Well, this is too much and I don’t think so going to such an extent is something applaudable. This happened in around 2011 when a woman named Jennifer Christine burned her friend’s house down after her friend unfriended her on Facebook.
She was taken in Police custody immediately due to her harmful action.
Jennifer Harris was an elementary school teacher at the time she committed this stupid act. She was held in the Polk County Jail on $100,000 bond.
The fire incident – It broke out around 1 a.m. at night on Oct 27, 2011, when everyone was sleeping inside the house. Luckily, the fire didn’t spread too quickly which gave everyone enough time to escape the house. The garage was the first entity to get damaged completely due to the fire.
Why she lit her friend’s house on fire? – According to the Police records. Harris had been a close friend with one of the inhabitants of the colony. The fight began when Harris posted something disturbing about Rasmussen, the friend of Harris, on the Facebook. Rasmussen responded to those comments in a different way. She unfriended and blocked Harris after the Facebook encounter.
How police reached to Harris? – The incident of fire wasn’t a small thing. Police asked Rasmussen and her husband if there was someone who might like to harm their family and then the couple mentioned Harris.
Later, Harris was reportedly placed on unpaid leave from her job.
In other news, Harris claimed that her charges were dropped later. Though, she was registered in Iowa Department of Corrections Inmate Locator. Which meant that she was on probation in 2011 till 2014. The charges couldn’t have been dropped immediately at that time.
