Paralysed mom dumped by husband, found new love with trainer who helped her walk again
Just because someone has left you it doesn’t mean an end to the world and the good part of life will surely come again. Look at the story of this woman who got paralyzed and then her husband dumped her but all that happened for good as she found a better love of her life later.
So doctors warned Riona Kelly that she may never walk again after suffering a stroke. But all thanks to her incredible trainer due to him she not only recovered from her ailment but also started walking.
37yo from Halifax, Yorkshire was rushed to the hospital when she received a spinal stroke which caused her a paralysis down the waist. 5 days after the accident while she was still in the trauma her husband told her that he was going to end their marriage. They had 4 children at that time the youngest being 5 years old.
Then her friend Sarah stood up and she helped her and her children. She became her next to the kin and also supported her during her recovery. Remembering the old times Riona said that it was the time when she needed her husband the most.
Riona couldn’t walk anymore, she had to commute using a wheelchair. The first time she went outside in her wheelchair she felt like everyone was staring at her and she hated it.
“If someone had given me the choice I would have ended my life, I didn’t want to live anymore.” – said Riona about her suffering.
However, after hours of physiotherapy, she was finally able to take her first step on the parallel bar. Although she was dragging her body and she felt nothing in her legs but still it was a good experience.
During a recovery, she met her personal trainer Keith Mason who is 35-year-old, after they worked through Physiotherapy sessions together, the pair started to fall in love with each other. It was Keith who helped her recover not only from the physical pain but also from the emotional one as she was fighting with the separation of her husband. Now they have been together for 11 months and the children really like him.
“We have now been together for 11 months, the children really like him and I finally feel like I’m living the life I deserve.” – said Riona during an Interview to The Sun.
She can now walk small distances on her feet and for longer distance, she has to use a wheelchair. She’s hopeful that she will start walking longer distance as well.
The husband of this woman says that he left her prior to the stroke and it’s just a blame.
