Woman made 15 false molestation claims, puts innocent man in jail for 5 years
A woman made 15 complaints to the police station regarding some men attempting to assault her, all these complaints were made separately. The interesting point in the entire story is that none of the complaints was actually true. She had made bogus claims of men trying to molest her and she did all this just for sake of earning some attention in the media.
The woman claimed herself to be someone having no interest in men but still, she lodged deceitful complaints to the police that actually led to one of her victims who served 2 years in jail. She was awarded around £11,000 in compensation while the victim actually suffered behind bars.
Yes! Jemma Beale was the woman behind all these fake stories. She told the Police that Mr Cassim (the guy behind bars) assaulted her after tempting her to give her a lift back to her home.
According to the reports, the 25-year-old endured herself with self-inflicted wounds and bruises which she claimed to have received from all of the 15 men. The woman insisted that all these 15 men were involved in assaulting her through different means but as soon as the trial started at Southwark Crown Court a jury of 6 men and 5 women took less than 8 hours to find that her claims were all fake. They charged her with perjury and preventing the course of Justice.
Judge told the woman, “This trial has revealed, what was then not obvious, that you are a very, very convincing liar and you enjoy being seen as a victim. The prosecution described your life as a “construct of bogus victimhood.”
The judge branded the behaviour of the woman as manipulative. The first complaint was made from Beale on the morning of 26th November. She accused Mr Cassim for molesting her and assaulting her physically. Mr Cassim had come to UK in 2002 after he had served in Sweden in the military as part of the peace-making corps. Mr Cassim had offered Beale a home which she accepted.
Describing that day, Mr Cassim said, “We drove for about ten minutes and while we were in the car we were talking and then she came and gave me a rub on my knuckles, my hand. She was obviously asking for something obscene in nature. I kept on asking her if she was sure about this? To which she replied in positive.”
However, after nothing happened when she took him into an alley and instead she started blaming him for an attempted assault. Beale then went to the police and Mr Cassim was tried and given a sentence of 7 years. Though, after spending 2 years in jail the sentence ended when all the claims of Beale were found to be wrong.
She has been given a sentence of 10 years for her false claims.
